Program Details
- The Summer Reading Program is open to readers of all ages! Participants are grouped into four age categories: Early Literacy (ages 0–6), Children (ages 7–12), Teens (ages 13–17), Adults (ages 18 and up). If your child is too young to read independently, you can sign up and enjoy reading together!
- Participants can log books, hours, and activities by completing a paper log. Stop by the Palm Desert Library to pick up your reading log starting Tuesday, May 27th.
- Prizes are given when you register, when you show your weekly progress, and a completion prize when you complete the challenge!
- Raffle Prizes: There will be raffle for a grand prize in each age group. The raffle will be held at the Pizza Party Finale on Saturday, July 26th from 12:00-2:00 PM. To participate in the raffle, complete the challenge, a raffle ticket will be provided.
- Prizes given while supplies last.
Registration and Finisher prizes: Goodie bag and Free Book or In-N-Out Gift Card. *gift cards are for children only*
Weekly Prizes: Show your reading progress and pick a treasure from the chest!
Halfway prizes: Child's pass to the Palm Desert Aquatic Center or a child's pass to The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens Splash Pad

Yes! All Coachella Valley residents can participate in our Summer Reading Program. All participation giveaways and grand prizes must be claimed in person.
Join the Summer Reading Program by registering in person at the Palm Desert Library. You'll receive a paper reading log when you sign up, which you'll use to track your reading throughout the program.
There will be a registration prize, weekly prizes, a completion prize, and a raffle for a grand prize in each age group. There will be a Pizza Party Finale on Saturday, July 26th from 12:00-2:00 PM.
