Understanding Grief
Program Description:
Join us for an insightful talk that explores what’s considered “normal” grief, the many different types of grief and loss, and practical ways to begin coping. We’ll also shed light on often-overlooked experiences like non-death loss and ambiguous or disenfranchised grief.
Presenter Bio:
Felicia Martin has a PhD in Clinical Psychology and is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She has taught psychology courses in both undergraduate and graduate universities. As a therapist, she has treated those struggling with mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. She has also worked in forensic psychology providing suicide assessments and criminal risk assessments for law enforcement. She is currently semi-retired and continues to see a few patients in private practice.
