Program Description

Event Details

Three actors will portray Winston, Julia and O’Brien.  Audience members will be invited to read for other roles.

The Thought Police invade everyone’s personal privacy on behalf of the all-knowing, all-powerful state. Lovers Winston and Julia make a quixotic attempt to evade discovery of their personal rebellion for as long as possible. Based on the prophetic novel by George Orwell, this riveting hit, first performed by the Actors’ Gang in Los Angeles and directed by Tim Robbins, addresses current issues, including “fake news”, ever-present technology, and the race for complete control by three rival superpowers.

Green Room Theatre will present an interactive staged reading featuring three well-rehearsed professional leading actors, with all other roles performed by audience members.

Directed by Jerome Joseph Gentes.

This program will be accessible in American Sign Language (ASL).

In partnership with Green Room Theatre.
