Presenter Bio: Steve Garfein
In 1980, Steve founded RPM Systems Corporation, where he is still active. Steve is a graduate of UCLA and USC with a degree in business. After graduation, he served as a Captain in the Army Artillery. His military experience led directly to a job managing advanced defense projects, including today’s AH-64 Apache, which was developed by Hughes Helicopters, also known as "Howard Hughes Hobby Shop."
Since founding RPM Systems, Steve has advised major organizations, including the City of New York, Microsoft, Intel, UBS, Johnson & Johnson, Amtrak, Lockheed Martin, Ford, and pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
He has been a visiting professor, teaching week-long master's-level courses at Oxford University, Stanford University, the University of Technology, Sydney, and the Queensland University of Technology. Steve is a past president of the Poulsbo, Washington, Rotary Club, where he developed an AI course specifically designed for the 1.4 million Rotarians worldwide.
Steve began teaching an artificial intelligence course over Zoom for the Palm Desert Learning in Retirement program starting in 2023. In the Winter of 2025, he will be leading his seventh LIR AI class. To learn more about Steve, visit https://www.rpmteam.com/
